Town Hall with the UUA Compensation Team

Wed 18th May 2022

10 PT, 11 MT, 12 CT, 1 ET

with Jan Gartner (Compensation and Staffing Practices Manager) and Sean Griffin, Compensation and Benefits Specialist

The UUA first introduced salary recommendations for congregational staff in 1995, over a quarter-century ago. Despite many shifts in congregational life and staffing patterns since then, the general methodology of the UUA Salary Recommendations has remained the same. The time has come to rethink this aspect of UUA Compensation Standards.

Join Jan and Sean to learn about upcoming changes and for the chance to provide input.

Join the LREDA Board for the annual meeting via Zoom.  We'll vote in new leadership, agree our budget for next year and enjoy some worshipful time together.

2022 LREDA Fahs Lecture:

Earthly Inheritance: Ancestral Wisdom and Today’s Climate Justice

Thursday June 23, 2022, 1:45-3:15 PT

This will be live in the Oregon Ballroom 201-202, Oregon Convention Center and also streamed for virtual attendees.

Rev. Dr. Sofía Betancourt will draw on her recently published book, Ecowomanism at the Panamá Canal: Black Women, Labor, and Environmental Ethics, to speak to the interconnections between inherited ancestral wisdom and climate justice. This lecture invites us to build beloved community as an Earth honoring faith.

Rev. Dr. Sofía Betancourt holds a Ph.D. in religious ethics and African American Studies from Yale University. Her academic work focuses on environmental ethics of liberation in a womanist and Latina feminist frame. She served for five years on the core faculty of Starr King School for the Ministry, four years as the Director of Racial and Ethnic Concerns of the Unitarian Universalist Association, and briefly as its Interim Co-President. Betancourt’s ministry centers on work that is empowering and counter-oppressive. Her book Ecowomanism at the Panamá Canal: Black Women, Labor, and Environmental Ethics was published by Lexington Books in January, 2022.
